Mobile Resources (Laptop and iPad) Support and Security

Laptops are provided with privacy screens to ensure that onlookers cannot inadvertently or purposefully view others' testing materials (the iPads do not have privacy screens). Additionally, proctoring by well-qualified, highly trained graduate students is offered as a free service to faculty using the laptops and iPads. Faculty also are encouraged to use the security tools available in Canvas, Respondus Lockdown Browser, Pearson, and McGraw-Hill products for even greater lockdown of testing materials. Information about those learning management tools and their use can be directed to the staff at the Center for Learning Experimentation, Application and Research, CLEAR.

Request form: All mobile resource requests should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance by using the reservation form link below. Generally, priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

All faculty interested in using the laptops and iPads for testing and teaching are strongly encouraged to consult with appropriate Testing Services personnel, who will try to accommodate as many needs as feasible and possible.

Strongly recommended: Set an appointment prior to your testing time to check your requested computer configurations.

All faculty and departments using the Academic Technology mobile resources are expected to consult the UNT Office of the Registrar to effectively follow all rules and guidelines regarding scheduling and announcing of testing dates, places and times in their syllabi and catalog publications.
